And then we took in the views from iconic “Fisherman’s Bastion” which overlooks the city… we were treated to the best views in the city by going up to the upper walkway in the background behind us.
FYI, when here with another company last year we were shown pictures of the inside of the church and told how beautiful it was and we’d have to pay to get in and then we were pointed to where to buy tickets to go up to the upper walkway for the great views… and then, we were given 3.5 hrs on our own to do those things & buy our own lunch.
Tauck not only brought us in the church and to the viewpoint but included a fabulous 3 course lunch. After all that we had an hour on our own to shop and explore, much better then 3.5 hrs to figure it out on our own. So yes, Tauck charges a lot more than many of the other companies but are MUCH more inclusive and plan their days much better so you see as much of the important things as possible.
Tauck even pays for the little things like bathroom breaks at all the places that charge to use their toilets, a frustrating thing that many Americans experience during their trips in Europe.
